Subject: Recruitment of CENELEC EMC ConsultantDear Colleagues, In application of the Commission requirement that Consultant contracts in the framework of European Directives should be reviewed regularly, we wish to inform you, that we are seeking applicants for the position of New Approach Consultant in the field of the EMC Directive. The position concerns a part-time consultant (116 days/12 months) for the EMC Directive 89/336/EEC starting on 2006-05-01. Although specific details will be defined in a specific contract, the consultant shall:
Amongst other tasks the Consultant will advise technical committees, subcommittees and working groups on the coherence of the standards under the relevant mandate and therefore attend a number of meetings of these bodies. In particular the Consultant will check the compatibility between the draft standards and the provisions of the relevant mandate, particularly essential requirements laid down in the Directive during the preparation of the drafts, during the public enquiry and before the Formal Vote. It will be necessary for the Consultant to co-operate with other relevant Consultants. The Consultant is required to work from a home base and the position necessitates regular co-ordination with the CENELEC Central Secretariat in Brussels and travel in Europe. The Consultant should have good communication skills, be computer literate and be able to plan and organize the work schedule. The contract will be concluded for a period of 12 months, with a possibility of renewal for a maximum of three periods of 12 months. The financial package, paid in Euros, is determined using Commission and EFTA agreed rates of remuneration based on the country of residence. Additionally a travel budget and business expense allowance are included. By the present letter, we invite you to let us know by 2006-01-15 whether you wish to nominate persons to the post of the above mentioned consultant (please enclose a detailed Curriculum Vitae in English, wherever possible in electronic format). The application should also include an indication of the man-day rate (all charges and taxes included) the candidate wishes to receive as remuneration for his/her work. There is no objection for the present EMC Consultant of CENELEC to introduce an application too.
